Materials We Use
Blades
Unless otherwise specified, blades in orders are always high carbon D-2 tool steel. Damascus blades are available upon request.
Handle Materials
Handle materials vary from natural to synthetic. Natural materials consist of, but not limited to: caribou, elk, whitetail deer, mule deer, moose, red stag horns and mammoth ivory; natural bone; exotic woods (zebra from Africa, ebony from Africa, leopard from South America and purple heart from Africa, natural burl from South America, and birds-eye maple from South America) and other various exotic woods; local hardwoods, walnut and cedar. Now available exclusively from Post Custom Knives is a special strain Delta Post Oak that grows only in Cleveland County, Arkansas. (see photo of Delta Post Oak material in Browse Knifes). We have access to an extremely wide variety of synthetics such as Corian in a variety of colors. Mother of Pearl, alternative ivory and others are by special order only. We have also recently acquired a very good source of high quality mammoth ivory which comes directly from the Bering Sea area.
Guards & Pins
Guards and pins are mainly aluminum, brass, stainless steel and mosaic, unless otherwise specified by order.
Sheaths
All sheaths are custom made to fit each knife out of natural raw leather. Stitching, tooling and color may vary by request.
Engraving
Custom engraving available upon request. Embedding of logos available upon request. (Logos to be provided by customer).
Blade Finishes
Mirror finish on all the blades is standard. Chemical blue finish and antique pit finish are available upon request.
